The fine print

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 1 July 2026 · Applies to all bookings made with Trip of a Lifetime.

The whole agreement, in plain language. If anything here is unclear, write to us before you book — a real human will explain it like a friend, not a lawyer.

1. The agreement

These terms form the contract between you and Trip of a Lifetime for any expedition you book with us. By paying a deposit or confirming a booking, you accept them on behalf of everyone on your booking. We keep them in plain language on purpose — if anything is unclear, ask us before you book.

2. Booking & payment

A booking is confirmed when we receive your deposit and send written confirmation. The balance is due 30 days before departure; zero-cost EMI plans are available through our payment partners. Prices are per person, twin-share, in INR, and include everything listed under "What's included" on your trip page — nothing more, nothing less.

3. Who can travel

Our expeditions are designed for travellers aged 18–45. You must be medically fit for the itinerary you book (altitude notes are on each trip page), hold a passport valid for 6+ months for international trips, and carry travel insurance — it is mandatory on every expedition.

4. Your details & privacy

The details we collect — name, contact, age, Instagram handle, emergency contact — are used solely to run your trip: rooming, permits, safety and group introductions. We never sell your data, and your emergency contact is contacted only in an actual emergency.

5. Changes by you

Want to switch trips or transfer your spot to a friend? We allow one free change up to 45 days before departure, subject to availability. Name transfers are free any time if the new traveller meets the trip requirements.

6. Changes by us

Mountain weather, bloom forecasts and border rules occasionally move faster than itineraries. We may adjust routing or accommodation to an equal-or-better standard. If we must cancel a departure, you choose: full refund, or free transfer to any other expedition.

7. On the road

Our hosts' decisions on safety are final. We reserve the right to remove any traveller whose behaviour endangers or persistently degrades the group's experience, without refund. It has happened once in forty trips; we'd like to keep it that way.

8. Liability

We hand-pick every operator, stay and driver, but adventure travel carries inherent risk that no operator can remove. Our liability is limited to the trip price. This is exactly what your mandatory travel insurance is for.
