Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 July 2026 · Applies to all bookings made with Trip of a Lifetime.

What we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to get it back or have it deleted. No 40-page PDF — the whole policy is on this page.

1. What we collect

When you enquire, join the waitlist or book, we collect what you give us: name, email, phone, Instagram handle, age, party size, accommodation preference, emergency contact, and — closer to departure — dietary, medical and passport details needed to run your trip. Our newsletter records your email, when you consented, and where the sign-up came from.

2. Why we collect it

To answer your enquiry, hold and manage your booking, arrange rooming, permits and safety on the road, take payments through our payment partner, and — only with your consent — send you occasional trip announcements. We never sell your data.

3. Payments

Card and UPI payments are processed by Razorpay. Your full card details never touch our servers; we store only the payment reference, amount and status.

4. How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for 24 months from last contact. Booking and payment records are kept for 8 years to meet accounting rules. Newsletter consent is kept until you unsubscribe. You can shorten any of these by asking us to erase your data.

5. Your rights

You can ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, correct it, or have it erased. Write to hello@tripofalifetime.co — we honour requests within 30 days. Erasure removes your personal details; anonymised booking records are retained where the law requires.

6. Cookies & analytics

We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to count visits. Optional marketing cookies are set only if you accept them in the consent banner, and you can change your mind at any time from the banner's settings.

7. Who we share with

Only what's needed to run your trip: accommodation and transport partners see traveller names; our payment partner processes payments; our email provider delivers confirmations. All are bound to use the data solely for that purpose.

We'd like to use optional cookies to measure our marketing. Essential functionality never needs them. See our privacy policy.
